William Herbert Hobbs, Ph.D. (1864–1952) was an American geologist.
He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and educated at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, at Johns Hopkins (Ph.D., 1888), and at Heidelberg (1888–89).
He filled several positions at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (1889–1906). From 1886 to 1906 he served with the United States Geological Survey.
